Providing wayfinding signage for the University of Surrey, we produced various graphics across the campus.
VGL partnered with Garth Hill College to transform an underutilised covered communal area through a series of bespoke graphic installations.
Garth Hill College wanted to revitalise a busy covered transition space used daily by hundreds of students and staff. The existing area lacked visual interest and offered an opportunity to create a more inspiring environment.
The aim was to introduce colour and character by incorporating several themed graphic elements, including astronomical, geometric and nature-inspired designs across the pillars and floors.
Working closely with the college, VGL designed, manufactured and installed a graphic scheme tailored to various surfaces throughout the space.
Large format floor graphics featuring space, nature and geometric themes were installed throughout the walkway to create visual impact and help define the area. The graphics were produced using durable materials suitable for high-footfall environments.
Concrete pillars were transformed with bold geometric patterns, shapes and colourful artwork. Using specialist vinyl wrapping materials, we achieved a smooth finish across both textured and curved surfaces.
The completed installation has transformed the appearance of the covered communal area, replacing a plain transition area with a colourful and engaging environment. By combining multiple graphic themes across floors, walls and structures, the project created a cohesive visual scheme that complements the wider college environment. All materials were specified to meet the demands of a busy educational setting, delivering long-lasting performance, safety and visual quality so the space will maintain its visual impact for years to come.
