Winter Wonderland at Victoria Leeds Shopping Centre.

Our Approach.

Originally, another supplier had been commissioned to produce and install the physical elements. However, two weeks before the planned installation, the supplier informed the client that they could no longer deliver the project. At that point, only the initial concept direction existed: the detailed design development, structural planning and production still needed to be completed.

VGL was asked to step in at short notice to take on the full scope: design development, artwork, fabrication and installation. Working to an accelerated timeline, the in-house design team and production departments collaborated closely to ensure the project could still be delivered for the Christmas launch

The Solution.

Working collaboratively with Chilled Agency, VGL developed the visual elements of the storybook theme and produced the physical structures using:

• Re-Board® Graphics: Graphics printed on Re-board® are particularly exciting for retail and exposition/exhibition scenarios.
• Floor-grade Vinyl

While the accelerated schedule did not allow for full prototyping, VGL ensured that all elements were fabricated, finished and installed in time for the Christmas launch.

As part of the ongoing partnership, some components will be redesigned and re-manufactured in the next phase to further refine the experience, highlighting VGL’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and long-term partnerships.

The Result.

The Winter Wonderland installation was delivered for the opening date, providing a festive, engaging space for visitors to enjoy and capture memories. The activation has added visual impact to Victoria Leeds Shopping Centre and supported the centre’s wider seasonal campaign.
