Lenticular Printing from VgL

VgL can offer solutions for both large format and small format Lenticular designs. By combining the latest technology, with innovative ideas VgL can help you get the most from advertising and point of sale materials.

Lenticular 3D graphics is the process whereby you add dimension and/or motion to your printed images. Using the latest software for lenticular 3D prints from Human Eyes we can either turn 2D images in to layered 3D images or create fully 3D images.

Effects that can be achieved:

Flip Lenticular

Flip images are the simplest type of Lenticular and can also be the most dramatic, catching people's attention from across the room or as they walk by. The basic "flip" has two or more images printed on the same page and can be activated side to side or up and down.

3D Lenticular

3D Depth images are a little more complicated, effective in isolation or combined with other effects. 3D is perhaps the most widely employed effect.
This effect relies upon Parallex, which is the ability to see slightly around an object. The left eye sees a different image to the right eye as they are looking at the lens in a slightly different angle. The eyes interpret this difference as depth. This is why the lens on a 3D image will always run vertically.

Animation Lenticular

Animated images are glorified flip images. However, there may be ten or more different images interlaced together. Most of the visible image will be a template used in all frames. (Think of animation cells.) The background image may remain constant, but the objects which appear to be moving will be printed at different positions. The multiple images are combined/interlaced in the same way described for flips. As the angle of viewing the print through the lens changes, different frames of the animation are seen. This can create a more interesting or complex transition from one image to the next.

Zoom Lenticular

Zoom - This is when you look at an image and you appear to zoom in and out as you move the Lenticular back and forth. Basically, the same image just gets bigger and smaller. It is a very effective and easy to produce. Try it in combo with 3-D.

Morphing Lenticular

Morphing - this is a multi-phase animation where the transition from one image to the next is "stepped" to give the illusion that one "morphs", transforms or changes into another image. The preparation of the art is critical to the effectiveness of this effect.

Human Eyes

VgL has invested in the latest 3D Lenticular Software; Human Eyes as part of its long running investment programme to have the best printing and software technology available to our clients.
Ideas on how to use Lenticular:

• Large format exhibition Lenticulars
• POS: In-store displays including headers, Shelf-talkers and Hangtags
• Internal or External Posters
• Billboards and promotions
• 3D Advertising Posters
• Direct Mail
• Coasters
• CD covers,
• Mouse mats
• Business cards
• Postcards

The Benefits………….

• Consumer attention is held up to 5x longer by a Lenticular image than by a traditionally printed image.
• 60% more effective than a purely 3D piece.
• Image can carry more than 1 advertising message.
• Results from market research show a clear preference was found for products produced in 3D rather than those printed in traditional 2D.
